Ciao tutti, I’m Cecily. I am an Italian-trained chef, currently taking a month off in between jobs to travel through Europe.

In 2010, I traveled to Italy for the first time to spend one semester of college living and studying in a small town called Parma. It was here – where the famous Parmigiano Reggiano and Prosciutto di Parma are produced – that I first became enamored with the Italian approach to food and cooking. In the fall of 2013, I returned to Italy. After working for two years as a paralegal at a Boston law firm, I decided to pursue my true passion and moved to Firenze to attend culinary school at the Apicius International School of Hospitality. I lived in Firenze for an entire year, falling more and more in love with Italian culture (and food!) every day. I returned to the States in June 2014 and began cooking at a winery and bed & breakfast in Afton, Virginia, just at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  In October, I will begin a new job at Sportello in Boston.

I love what I do. Three of the things I value most in life are good food, wine, and travel. This blog is a little bit of all of those things: an expression of how I see and live my life.

Benvenuti, and I hope you enjoy!
